I am a one man shop specializing in hardwood containers. I am a self taught woodworker and have been working in different forms of woodworking for over 25 years.I decided to make boxes so I could expound on my true love of wood. I spend a lot of time looking for highly figured lumber, which I hand select. I also mill my own burls, which come to me in large 6” by 36” round slabs. No two pieces are ever the same and I never know what will be revealed when I cut into one. Spalting, wild grain and hidden inclusions (bark) are all special “gems” that still make me stop and behold the beauty that the wood can reveal.I use many intricate joints that add strength and beauty to each piece. I do not use any dyes or stains, only natural oils and waxes to enhance the natural beauty and color of the wood.Many of my designs are one of a kind. I enjoy creating new designs and figuring out the best way to highlight the wood that I use in each piece. Even though I have several “bread and butter” pieces, I prefer creating to manufacturing.
