Scott Martin

 This artist’s current body of work reflects his lifelong passion for the rich colors, organic textures and fluid movements of coastal environments. He strives to capture the calming hues of sandy white beaches to the intensely reflective azure and turquoise palettes of tropical waters.
My early studio years were spent perfecting hand- made glazes to achieve this range of depth in my colors. Using many traditional techniques such as the wheel and slab rolling but combining it with new and innovative ideas such as sand blasting, forced erosion and intense direct flames allow for new and unpredictable textures. With this balance of both color and texture, a truly one-of-a-kind piece of art is born that both has the feeling of natural landscapes and biomes mixed with organic textures.
