Peter Streit & Lisa Streit

I am a potter dedicated to creating beautiful, functional works of art. My purpose is twofold: to create pots with clean lines, classic forms, and quiet glazes that enhance the beauty and presentation of food and drink, and most importantly, to inspire ritual every day. Every piece is meant to be a useful pot, born of either a stoneware or porcelain clay body. I wheel throw or hand build each one, then alter it to ensure simplicity of form. I apply glazes by pouring, dipping, and spraying, and adorn them with decorative slips and stains in my effort to present a quiet harmony between the functionality and the aesthetic beauty of the work. Finally, I fire the pots to 2350 degrees in a reduction atmosphere inside a gas kiln.
