I have been told that I do not paint flowers, rather I paint sculptures. It is my desire to paint objects that seemingly can be viewed from all angles. I concentrate on contrast to create that illusion. I paint from photos of flowers I have taken from all over the USA; photos that I take in direct sunlight so I can capture the drama that sharp shadows create.
