hand turned hollow forms turned once to. a rough thckness and left to dry for 3 to 9 months depending on moisture. once dry and stable it is remounted to the lathe and turned again to a wall thickness of 3/16th sanded to a scratchless surface and then the finish is applyed 8 to 15 coats and buffed to a high gloss. now to build the handle.
