This work is about memory and female empowerment. A whimsical approach with the use of vintage ads, old photos and images from classic films, this work tells the story of the Black woman as a central character in her story. She is celebrated, strident and self confident. Her vision is experienced and although these images come from vintage ephemera, the story of her life is relatable in today’s context.
