Inspired by Van Gogh and modern artist Erin Hansen, my colorful oil on canvas paintings are of places I have been or things that I love. They are meant to be as interesting looking at a small section of them, as well as the whole painting. The best compliment is when they invoke an emotion or the viewer feels like they are there in the painting. I try to achieve movement with composition, color, texture and subject. I choose three or four colors plus white to create a cohesiveness in the finished painting. I love impasto style for the texture and richness it brings to the art. I have lived in Texas for only 1 year, but my husband and I have enjoyed travelling and exploring here. I have found a lot of subjects here that I want to paint. From Bluebonnets to cacti to Longhorns and the big Texas sky, my inspiration comes from finding interest in nature as well as historical architecture. I try to produce beautiful paintings that people would love to have in their homes because it makes them reminisce of a happy memory.
