My work is a celebration of the small, the nostalgic, and the often-overlooked details of everyday life. I create miniature paintings in oil and watercolor, each measuring just a few inches, yet filled with the same care and complexity found in larger works. Over the past decade, I’ve developed a practice that invites viewers to pause, lean in, and rediscover the delight of noticing. The subjects I choose are intentionally diverse—food and drinks, vintage toys, beloved animals, and iconic pieces of pop culture. These themes connect across generations, sparking recognition and conversation. A slice of pie might remind someone of family dinners, while a tiny portrait of a classic toy evokes childhood memories. Through scale and detail, I aim to transform ordinary objects into intimate treasures. My process begins with a simple sketch, followed by slow, deliberate layering of paint using the smallest of brushes. Whether in the translucent washes of watercolor or the rich textures of oil, I focus on capturing light, color, and texture in a way that makes each subject feel both familiar and new. Working at such a reduced scale requires patience, precision, and a playful spirit—qualities that have shaped not just my art, but my approach to storytelling through painting. Ultimately, my goal is to create work that feels approachable and personal. These tiny pieces invite curiosity, draw viewers closer, and offer a moment of joy. In a world that often rushes past detail, I want my paintings to remind us that beauty can be found in the smallest spaces.
