My latest series, The Birdmen, seamlessly combines human bodies with bird heads in a wide range of situations. Though the resulting images frequently have a humorous aspect, they also often resonate symbolically. The body establishes the figures human nature, and the bird head suggests a freedom from human limitations. The surprising result is an opening to associate new possibilities to manipulate and re-imagine iconic imagery and to add mysterious dimension and a mythic character to the figures. Each piece is a photo-montage made up of several to many digitally blended images from my personal collection of photographs.
