Jan Byron
Through color, shape and detail, I merge my 34 years of art experience with the words of great minds (Gandhi and Groucho and all point in between) in an effort to both savor and save.
The hard surfaces of my designs are several layers of colored pencil on mono-styrene. The color is then baked into the plastic’s grain. This area of 2-dimensional art is merged with a shaped fabric element. Both pieces of the design puzzle are embellished with stones, beads, metals and other objects. Each element color, shape and detail – is chosen to bring my narrative picture to the viewer.
“I arise in the morning town between a desire to save the world and a desire to savor the world…that makes it hard to plan the day.” E.B. White
