Our mixed media bird sculptures are the result of over 20 years of collecting and study. We have always been fascinated with birds of all kinds, which led to collecting vintage hunting decoys and small bird carvings. We use our collection to inspire our carvings, trying to capture the warmth and beauty of a well loved and handled decoy. Recycled metals and found objects are incorporated to give each sculpture its own individuality. The use of these materials reflect the fragile balance between nature and industry. Objects that were once cast aside as useless are now the foundation for our assemblages. The birds give life to these once forgotten pieces of yesterday. We invite the observer to find the beauty and mystery that lie concealed in these familiar yet forgotten objects. We hope these birds put a smile on your face and a song in your heart. We travel all over the country exhibiting at juried art festivals, searching for our recycled materials along the way.
