Our art is a stone inlay technique that combines the disciplines of mosaic, relief and sculpture. The process consists of hand cutting, shaping, polishing and setting numerous pieces of stone into a distinct shapes and designs. We use a variety of stone from all parts of the world. Granite, marble, slate, limestone, travertine, soapstone, alabaster and onyx are examples. All of these stones have a diversity of colors, distinct striations and different densities.Completed works of art have a variety of looks. The finished art may have the stone inlayed at various depths, inlayed three-dimensionally, or leveled and polished to a smooth surface. Our work is designed as wall art, or commissioned pieces can be inlayed into the floor or wall. All of our art is created through a collaboration of thoughts, ideas and craftsmanship. Every aspect of our art is a collaborative, husband and wife effort, from the initial design, to the cutting and polishing of the stone. In result, our art combines the masculine and feminine energies to create one fluid pieces of art.Our subject matter ranges from figurative to non-objective, with a focus on line and color. All of our designs explore the idea of the organic coming into contact with the geometric, natural stone coming into contact with man. By using this concept, our art is a balance between showing the natural beauty of stone, and how our process manipulates the stone.
