My pieces begin with fallen aspen branches that I collect in the mountains of the southwestern United States. I carve the aspen and combine it with found objects and reclaimed materials. My carving style is inspired by folk, tribal and primitive art. I’m drawn to themes that are personal and universal, timely yet timeless- Our relationship with each other, animals, and nature, our resilience and humor, life’s mysteries and moments of grace.
