Through my pastel drawings I try to bring the viewer into a vintage world, where nature comes to play. My artworks feature classic literature, old relics, flora and fauna. From those I begin building a composition, playing with different perspectives. Shadows and reflections are a very important part of each piece so lighting is key. My drawings are created using pastel pencils and sticks on sanded pastel paper. The first layers are laid in with pastel sticks. Working the pigments into the tooth of the paper with my fingers. Final detailed layers are done using pastel pencils. The layers are so thin that hardly any dust is left on the surface of the paper. This gives the drawing a softer look. I take pride in my framing using only acid-free archival materials, solid wood frames and museum anti-glare glass. I am a self thought artist. Member of the Degas Pastel Society, Women Artist of the West and a signature member of the Pastel Society of America. An associate with Distinction member of American Women Artist. In 2024 I received my Masters Circle accreditation from the International Association of Pastel Societies.
