My work explores how light, color, and texture come together to deepen a surface. Each piece is thrown and altered on the potter’s wheel, then carved by hand with a rhythmic, fluid pattern. These marks are in reference to the wet drapery technique used in classical sculpture to depict veiled forms. When illuminated, the translucent porcelain filters light, creating a soft, tinted glow that mirrors the color of its interior glaze. Viewers are invited to engage with the surface as it shifts and responds to changes in light and perspective. The result is a body of work that is both functional and contemplative—pieces that live joyfully within the home while encouraging closer observation.
