These one of a kind textiles are individually crafted when merged with merino wool by hand through the process of wet felt making. Wool fiber is layered onto the surface of silk in a specific pattern and then attached to it using pressure, friction, soap and water. Once the wool is adhered to the silk surface the fibers are made permanent when shrunk by hand in alternate baths of hot and cold and water.Fiber Reactive dyes, three weights of silk, merino fibers, hand sewing and embellishment techniques are used in combination to create a collection of 26 styles of wearable art. All is the work is done by the artist by hand.
