Thomas Diel

I make functional objects with an industrial, architectural flair from wood and metal. I’m inspired by The Machine Age, Italian Futurism, and modern architecture. Warm hardwoods juxtapose the cold metallic constructs for my basic design syntax. My design method is bottom up with form fitted to function while scrutinizing material choice with execution of craft paramount. I wear numerous hats developed from many purposeful life experiences. I played the long game from design school by; learning materials, refining my aesthetic, and for the last ten years I have realized my raison d-etra.
