My pieces range from simple vases to very complex sculptural wall pieces. They are made primarily from wood with possible additions of metal, glass, stone, found objects, etc.
The “body” of each piece is fabricated by laminating several layers of material to achieve the desired thickness. The profile is cut out, shape is carved and surface is heavily textured with tools as varied as a gauge, chisel or chainsaw. The surface is treated with stain, paint and colored wax alternating with sanding and buffing. This yields a complex visual look to the piece.
All processes involved in the creation of the pieces (wood, metal, glass) are done entirely by the Artist.
