Drawing, whether using pencil on paper, or oil pastel on canvas, has always been one of my favorite ways of creating an image. On this occasion, I am taking the opportunity to explore a variety of different images, created using a wide spectrum of drawing techniques. The work that is framed behind glass is done on paper – using soft pastel, charcoal, prismacolor pencil and oil pastel often combining two or more of these materials in the completed piece. The larger works on masonite or canvas also combine a variety of drawing materials – primarily prismacolor sticks, wax pencils, oil pastels and oil sticks. These larger drawings are then varnished or sprayed with polyurethane. I hope you enjoy this new work as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it.
