Toby McGee

I was raised and live in the plains. I still love the wide horizon line visible in the plains landscape. As I drive thousands of miles a year to participate in art festivals I get to watch the landscape roll by my windows. I use these visual memories to inform the paintings I’m producing in my blown glass vessels. The layering of colored and clear glasses help create the depth and distance I’m after in these images. As I turn the blowpipe with the fluid glass attached, the landscape is rolling by again. All pieces are designed and executed solely by me in my backyard studio.
