I harvest the wood that I use for each hollow vessel from downed trees wherever I can find them. Each green piece of wood is rough turned on the lathe and I begin to get a vision for what artistic opportunities the piece will offer. It is also initially hollowed at this point. After drying thoroughly, it is re-turned to finished form on the lathe. After this, a long process of applying 6-8 coats of Epoxy resin begins, concluding by working the cured finish to museum quality perfection.
