Rey D’Alfonso

During my painting, I call upon an arsenal of hand made tools & textures that I have created out of tempered metals to gouge the aged woods. I also use heat as a primary instrument. The use of heat allows me to vitalize the process of painting and gouging by introducing an element of chance. I find that by nurturing the arbitrary (and undirected) reactions of materials in the process of heating and cooling it the creative process is in a constant evolution.
