I create handwoven wearable art by developing complex, original weave structures on a 24 harness loom. I work in natural fibers, which produce a comfortable, durable cloth with a beautiful drape. Color is very important to my work and choosing the colors which will go on the loom starts the process. Then I decide what weaving patterns to use and I thread the loom with up to 1200 threads. As the weaving progresses I’ll change the yarns and patterns I use in weaving each piece. Then the cloth is washed, dried and individually cut to be sewn and finished. The result is a garment that is stylish and will last for years.
