The inspiration for my ceramic sculpture is based in an abiding interest in paleontology and archaeology ; an exploration of how universal forms evolve and adapt. My efforts attempt to interpret the fluid and dynamic forms found in the natural world. My curiosity about the universality of the evolution of these structures is the basis for my own artistic evolution. There is always a search for what lies below the surface of what I see. Often viewed as Fantasy Art, the sculptural development over the past 40 years has been more of a cultural exploration of archetypal images than a representation of mythological creatures. The ceramic sculptures I build are diverse and encompass a range of richly organic forms.
