Klaus Mayer

I am born and raised in Germany and my family and I moved to the US in 2008.

I am a self taught photographer. Besides taking classes, most of my knowledge I was taught by my father who was a passionate amateur photographer.

As a family we love to travel around the world to explore new countries and cultures. I found my passion in photographing landscapes from all over the world, specially wildlife on safaris in Africa.

I am very honored that my photographs have won multiple awards throughout my career, from best of category up to best of show. Some of them where published on National Geographic. In 2018 I was a finalist for “Photographer of the year” of National Geographic in Germany and in 2020 my photograph “The Black One” was a finalist for the “Wildlife Photographer of the Year” at the Natural History Museum in London.
