The subject matter of my realistic style is often linked to simple things in nature that move me. I love exploring color and texture, and to experiment with scale and unique compositions. My work typically narrows in on the essence of what makes an object or a scene uniquely interesting to me. Every hike, every morning drive to work, every trip to the grocery store is a symphony of color and texture—a playground of ideas that inspire my work. I love to highlight the textural details in an object or scene and find that colored pencil, soft pastels, and oils help me achieve that level of precision and lend me the opportunity to heighten and intensify the bold colors of nature.
