Through the use of simplicity and balance, these Zen-like visual poems create peaceful places for the viewer to connect with natural and found objects and with themselves. By staging 3D arrangements in constructed panels with carved niches, I can amplify the play of light and shadow on the surfaces. Texture from layers of applied cement, earthy colors, and sandblasted surfaces add to the drama.
