I have always appreciated all kinds of original art, but only on a few memorable occasions have I found “I love-it-so-much-I-gotta-have-it” art. And when I do find it, it’s a glorious feeling. If something I create gives someone else that same feeling… well, I can’t think of anything better than that.

I am a self-taught painter. Last year, I put up mid-century-inspired wallpaper in the dining room and the big wall needed some big art. I wasn’t able to find that one painting that would give me that joyous feeling, and then one day, a light bulb went off – I’ll create it myself! I bought some oil paints and a large canvas and went to town. I really liked what I created, and I have been creating ever since.

I paint semi-abstract natural scenes and landscapes using palette knifes. My paintings have a modern bent and are typically light in color. I like to paint with oils because the paint has heft and shine.
