Load Out Instructions
We know that you are anxious to get loaded and on your way. We want to help you do that as quickly and efficiently as possible. While you may close at 6:00pm, the festival doesn’t close until 8:00pm. Vehicles are not allowed on the streets while the festival is open.
Key Points:
- We cannot allow vehicles on the street while there are people walking around. We will work with the police department to determine when it is safe in each area individually. While you may be ready to load, it may not be safe to bring your vehicle.
- It takes some participants longer to break down and load their equipment
- We can only get a limited number of vehicles onto the street at a time.
- There are 2 options for load out AFTER we close the festival:
- You can break down and dolly out to your vehicle OUTSIDE the barricades. This does NOT you can park in the cart lanes on Houston and Commerce.
- You can follow the vehicle process below
To help get as many participants loaded and out as quickly as possible, we will use the following process:
- No earlier than 6:00pm, unless specific permission is granted, you may close down.
- Dismantle and pack your booth within your booth’s boundaries so that it is ready to load into your vehicle.
- Once you are completely broken down and prepared to load into your vehicle, notify the assigned staff person in your area,
- Staff will determine if it is possible to get your vehicle in without blocking others who are also ready to load out.
- Your assigned staff person will verify that you are ready to load and once our security team says it’s safe, they will issue you a load out pass. No vehicles will be allowed inside the barricades without a load out pass.
- Take your load out pass to your vehicle and come to the barricades specified on your pass.
- Show the pass to the barricade worker and they will let you in.
- Follow the directions from staff and police to get to your booth
- Pack as quickly as possible and once an exit path is clear, we’ll get you on your way.
- Some areas will have special exceptions and instructions. Your staff person will advise you if this applies and provide instructions.
We’re all trying to get everyone out as quickly as possible. Be patient and considerate of your fellow participants. Thank you for your consideration and for making this a great festival.
