My primary aim in the work that I do is to respect the medium as inherently beautiful. I do not treat any of the wood that I work with with any artificial coloring nor do I seek to embellish to any great degree. I spend a great deal of time selecting woods that have unusual grain or coloring and I work to orient them on the lathe in such a way that the presentation is striking. Each piece is twice turned on the lathe and then soaked and coated with multiple coats of clear epoxy resin for a museum quality finish.
