Mick Whitcomb

By means of soldering, welding, and dry joinery I create utilitarian sculptures that combine mechanical and scientific innovations of the 19th century with lighting technologies introduced by Thomas Edison and Nicholas Tesla in the late 1800’s. Each of these sculptural abstractions shine a light on the humble origins of modern industry while preserving relevance for obsolete innovations of the past.
