From the first moment I saw vessels formed on the potter’s wheel, I was fascinated and to this day I still haven’t gotten over the fascination. The pottery is “wheel thrown” and most of my work involves a technique known as Sgraffito. This is a sophisticated method of incising designs onto leather-hard clay that has been completely covered with a colored slip. Most of my designs are inspired by African and Native American work. All of the pottery work from start to finish is done solely by me.
