Movement:The word sums up where my work and interest lies. Movement of the rolling balls:The influence of gravity, centrifugal force, stored energy and other laws of physics can combine in many complex and intriguing ways. Movement of lines:Wires are amazing three dimensional lines. The interaction of these lines is constantly changing depending on the angle of view and lighting of the work.Movement of machines:It has always delighted me, the inner workings of even the simplest of mechanical devices. I try to make machines in the simplest form. People are drawn to movement by some primordial urge. Back in our distant, animal past movement meant one of two things, danger or lunch. This reaction is still hardwired into us and amazing to watch. In this way people viewing the work become part of it.
