These are unique handmade instruments of my own invention. They are not traditional instruments.
I design for beginners as well as experts. Instruments for beginners have to be easy to learn, sound good, look good, and be affordable. The design requirement is to optimize all of those requirements with artistic excellence. This is what has guided what I create. Besides shapes that are visually pleasing, I bring a musician’s ear to creating an instrument’s tone and quality of sound. A well-designed and well-made instrument is art that inspires art. I have developed unique construction techniques (such as one piece neck/body and cold-formed soundboxes). Fine tonewoods (Spruce, Padouk, Koa, Maple, Rosewood) are used throughout. For Art Experts who may not be familiar with instrument making, I point out that the invention of a successful new instrument is a very rare occurrence and my work has resulted in entirely new instrument categories in the field as a whole.
