by: Sarah McClellan-Brandt

Fort Worth, Texas (Feb. 4, 2007) — MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival, the largest of its kind in the Southwest and growing, has issued a call for volunteers to help with the event by signing up for the new, “Team MAIN ST.!”

Now in its 22nd year, the April 19-22 festival needs all the extra hands it can get to assist event managers. Between 1,200 and 1,500 people usually volunteer to execute various functions, including guest relations, beverage support, merchandising, volunteer support, artist hosting and MAIN ST. Creates! area operations, all while being surrounded by world class artists, food and entertainment.

“There is no way we could put on the quality event that we do without the support of our volunteers,” said Volunteer Coordinator Christine Boren. “Team MAIN ST. is a fun way to bring everyone together to help us present this world class event to the community.”

Benefits include a festival shirt, service pins, raffles for free American Airlines tickets and more. Shifts vary by responsibility. To help out this year, sign up at www.MainStreetArtsFest.org. For more information, e-mail volunteerinfo@dfwi.org or call 817-336-2787 x 24.
