Joseph Magnano

Joseph Magnano, b.1977 in Los Angeles California, predominantly works in the medium of paint. Since 2014 his primary focus has been painting cows. This relationship with cows began when moving to Texas from San Francisco. Being raised and has lived in mostly urban environments Joseph has found happiness in all the surrounding nature and ranch lands that the cows of Hill Country graze on. Digging deeper, this investigation of cows may stem from all the time he spent working in kitchens and becoming a Chef. Being out with the cow, taking pictures gives Joseph a feeling of childlike curiosity, a new sense of compassion, and learning of those individuals making contribution through agriculture and land stewardship.
